Working Party 17 October 2019
Team: Clive Bostle, Glyn Hayter, Roy Pritchard, Geoff Smith, Clive Stewart, Mike Taylor, Geoff Thould, Marg Townend, Paul Wood
The Evesham Rambling Club Working Party was out in the Hinton area in October, making improvements on the Isbourne Way Footpath.
A group of nine members was tasked with putting in series of steps on a steep bank, installing additional waymarker posts and clearing undergrowth. The work was made more challenging by the remote location of the site to which all the equipment and materials had to be transported by hand and wheelbarrow. Recent rain made conditions underfoot extremely slippery but the team managed to reach the site and carry out these very important improvements.
The Working Party carries out vital work; maintaining and improving the local Rights of Way. It ensures local footpaths are kept clear, old stiles and footbridges are replaced and waymarking is renewed. Evesham Rambling Club members volunteer on a bi-monthly basis to undertake work in conjunction with the Public Rights of Way Team from Worcestershire County Council. The club is always looking for additional volunteers to join in this important work.
