Sunday Rambles
  • Leaders: Charles & Geoff
  • Area: Cleeve Hill
  • Start:  09:30am
  • Distance: am 9.8 km, 6.1 miles; pm 10.4 km, 6.4 miles
  • Terrain: Mostly pasture, tussocky in one place. Two ploughed fields.
  • Lunch: 12:30-13:30, Sevenhampton Church, bring a picnic or, for those who wish, the Craven Arms is available at Brockhampton, 1/2 mile further. www.thecravenarms.co.uk Although they were recently CAMRA Glos pub, I cannot recommend the beer BUT they stock Winstone’s excellent ice-cream. Please book at the pub if you want to eat there.

  • Description:

“A Sourcy Ramble” over Cleeve Common and pasture to Whittington and on to Sevenhampton and Brockhampton. Passing the source of the Coln, we turn left at the road, returning to the Common beyond Wontley Farm. On the way back, we visit the source of the Isbourne.
