- Terrain: A hilly walk on good tracks, field paths and wooded slopes. There is a short steep climb early on. In the afternoon, part of the route follows a lane.
- Lunch: About 12.30 pm, Meadows close to Slad. Please bring a picnic.
- Tea: 4.30 pm, The Air Balloon, Crickley Hill, Birdlip
- Description:
“The walk explores the beautiful Slad Valley, immortalised in the works of local author Laurie Lee. Ten of his poems are inscribed on posts along the way. The route passes through four Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust nature reserves, and touches on The Wysis Way and the Offa’s Dyke to Thames Link Path. Lovely views throughout the day and the prospect of autumn colours.”
