Sunday 2 March
Well who knew that such a venue existed? Thankfully, our current Chair, Emily, brought this venue, Holland House, a historical black and white building in Cropthorne, to the fore during our ERC Committee meetings. A delightful haven, in a beautiful surrounding close to the River Avon with dining, lounge and conference spaces with ample rooms for those wishing to stay. A three course meal plus coffee/tea in the dining room, identity game during the meal followed by entertainment in the form of line dancing in the Conference room; we were our own entertainment.
Thanks go to Lorraine who guided us through the intricacies of a ‘simple’ line dance completed by walking forwards, backwards, diagonally, to the side and then turning. As ramblers we’re used to walking forward but surprisingly, to some, most were able to go backwards, sideways and turn; some definitely had two left feet. Most thanks go to Emily who managed the evening perfectly. A lovely, lovely event, great company and a great host – Emily.
