As promised, below are further details of the 70th Anniversary celebrations.
There is something for everyone and a chance to “pick’n’mix”.

  • Join Alan and Pauline for a circular 12-mile walk
  • Explore Evesham on a 5-mile morning walk with Clive
  • Take a boat trip on the Avon in the afternoon with Frank
  • Combine the morning walk and afternoon boat trip
  • All meet up at Evesham Rowing Club for a Celebration Tea.

Short Walk

Round Evesham Walk – following the riverside and taking in the Evesham Battle Trail. The walk should finish by 12.30pm.

Sunday Ramble

  • Terrain: Flat, well-defined paths with just a few stiles.
  • Distance: am 6 miles / 9.6 km; pm 6 miles / 9.6 km


The route follows the Isbourne Way to Sedgeberrow and then the Wychavon Way to Aston Somerville for lunch. In the afternoon, we follow Badsey Brook through Murcot, Wickhamford and Badsey, before returning to Evesham over Knowle Hill. Fine views all along the route.

Boat Trip on the River Avon

  • Duration: from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm
  • Meet: 1.45 pm at the landing stage in Workman Gardens, Waterside, Evesham

  • Cost: The cost will be scaled depending on how many people book. A minimum of 15 people are required. Still time to book.  Enough people have booked so this will go ahead.  (£5 per head if 20 people on board) You will be advised the exact cost at a later date.  Frank will take payment for the boat trip (in cash) on the day.

Celebration Tea

  • Cost: £6 per head
  • Booking: If you are intending to come along just for tea you still need to book online as well as paying Mike (see below).

Our Treasurer, Mike Taylor, has requested that payment JUST FOR THE TEA is made direct to the Bank Account, in the same way as you paid your annual subscriptions. If this is a problem, however, please have a word with Mike on 01386 860450
