• June 20 Evening Ramble

Starting and finishing at the Oak Pub in Upton Snodsbury (an ERC Friday evening favourite), with an opportunity for drinks and/or food. Prebooking food is required and a menu will be distributed to those who have booked nearer the date.

  • August 15 Evening Ramble

Walking in fields beside the River Avon, Shakespeare’s Avon way, to Nafford Weir. Road walking, through ploughed fields before entering the pretty village of Eckington via the church where The Bell pub opposite will be available . A short distance back to the Car Park.

  • August 29 Evening Ramble

This is our third summertime romp across the rollercoaster landscape of the hills north of Abberley. We’ll pass a 17th-century farmhouse and a hidden damson orchard. You are encouraged to bring walking sticks, and we’ll be walking fairly quickly and thirstily because the aim, as always, is to end by enjoying Worcestershire’s finest craft beer, at a brewery in a barn which shuts at 8pm. There will be a pop-up food stand – if you might want to eat, please indicate this in your booking and we’ll send you the menu to choose from shortly before the day, so they hold back food for our arrival (the place is very popular on summer evenings). Please bring £1 to pay for parking at the Village Hall.

  • October 5 Moonlight Ramble

Starting from Overbury we will head up through the Overbury Estate towards the Belt and Sundial Farm. We will then head towards Banbury Tower and follow the escarpment before heading back down towards Overbury. Will we see the Beast of Bredon?

We should be back at the cars around 11.00 pm.

  • April Evening Ramble

A nice and easy walk to start off our series of Friday evening walks in 2026. The walk is almost entirely on quiet roads, well-made farm tracks and well-maintained pathways. We will skirt around a couple of fields but nothing challenging under foot. Even if it has been raining, mud should not be a problem. Sunset is predicted to be at 6.30pm, so the latter stages of the walk will likely be in a degree of darkness. Please bring a torch, or your phone, to light the way.

  • May 08 Evening Ramble

A circular walk across parkland and fields to Spoonly Wood and return past Sudeley Castle.

  • May 22 Evening Ramble

A ramble through the Ashmore and New Farm nature reserves on the outskirts of Evesham. We will follow parts of the Skylark Trail learning a bit about about the history of the area.
