• April Sunday Ramble

From Brailes Hall we take a short walk down to ‘The George’ public house, where we take a footpath to Rectory Farm, then on to Chinslade Barn and Fisher’s Coppice, then a short climb to Round Hill where we follow the culvert to Lower Atchill and Traitor’s Ford. We stop here for coffee and a paddle.
We then pick up the Macmillan Way, climbing to brilliant views and then join Ditchedge Lane to Gallow Hill and out to the village of Epwell. We lunch here and make a visit to the interesting little church of St. Anne’s.
Once ready we will head off west taking an interconnecting footpath to Winderton. In this small village we will take the opportunity to visit the church of St Peter and St Paul’s, and take a sneak view of Alice Hyde’s Cottage: Alice was a famous resident of the village in the 1900s. Our return will be across open fields with the Cathedral of the Findons in clear sight. The option of a direct return to the Village Hall is available, or for those more energetic, a climb up Castle Hill to the ancient motte and bailey castle, taking in splendid views before returning to the parking.

  • Chair’s Ramble & AGM March 2026

This year the Chair has chosen her favourite Vale of Evesham circular walk (Walk 5) for my Chair’s ramble. It is a delightful circular walk taking in the villages of Charlton and Cropthorne with lovely views over the River Avon and our great local countryside.
